• At the local Democratic Club meeting, a discussion about opening the process up to more people – by changing club rules to allow new members to vote for officers on the same day they join – led to an interesting and spirited debate which is soon to continue in the coming months.
• Although they were informed that our current voting machines are in desperate need of repairs and an upgrade, the Licking County Commissioners expressed no desire to get on the ball with acquiring better voting machines now. Keep in mind that all three commissioners are Republican and that they don’t think it is important to have the best possible technology for voting any time soon without a state mandate. This is even in light of recent revelations that the Russians have hacked voting rolls throughout the country.
